by Le Code & Are Morica

Le Code & Are Morica are back with a new 3 tracks EP on their label Mare Nostrum.

The two companions are not at their first collaboration, since they released last year two singles that were successful. The two artists speak the same musical language and managed to mix their respective universes in a work dedicated to their favorite theme, the sea.

The Nereides are the nymphs of the sea in Greek mythology. They form the procession of the god Poseidon. They intervene in various ways and prove to be as sweet as ruthless.

In this EP, we find the nymph Calypso who gave her love to Ulysses during seven years of his Odyssey. An unconditional love that will lead her to offer him eternal life. Ulysses refused her and went back to Ithaca, but he never forgot the tenderness of Calypso. An impossible love between a nymph and a mortal.

The nymphs sometimes ride on the back of a seahorse, a well known sea horse. The second piece is an imaginary ballad on the ocean waves where the two artists imagine the procession of nymphs riding the glittering waves of the sun.

Finally, the nymphs can show a very powerful feeling, compassion.

Thetis, the mother of the great Greek warrior Achilles, is a nymph. When Achilles loses his friend Patroclus on the battlefield, his mother shares his pain and her tears abound the ocean.

In this last piece, both artists illustrate the sadness of a mother and the beauty of divine compassion.

Thus through this very inspiring mythological theme, The Code and Are Morica, deliver a bewitching music in which the very worked textures evoke sunshine, softness, nostalgia and plenitude.
